Alexander Hamilton, January 11, 1755 to July 12, 1804, was best known as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America financial system.


Born in Charlestown in the British West Indies, Hamilton spent most of his time in the United States government as the Secretary of the Treasury from 1789 to 1795, managing the country’s finances and creating the Hamiltonian Economic Program.

Furthermore, Alexander Hamilton’s long political career was centered around the creation of the Bank of the United States, signed into law on February 25, 1791, the assumption of state debts by the federal government, and the promotion of manufacturing and industry as vital to national prosperity.


Meanwhile, during his role as Treasury Secretary, he standardized the United States dollar and regulated coinage through the Coinage Act of 1792, and advocated for protective tariffs through his Report on Manufactures, which he presented to Congress on December 5, 1791.
